VERBO10 PRODUCTIONS
A message from The Chief:
Verbosity, verboseness: the capacity to communicate using spoken language: A dying art? One of the forbidden dark arts? It may be hip to critique the digital revolution for it's role in "dumming down" the language arts: After all, what has the internet given us but a platform for any crackpot to get an audience for their amateur editorializing without checking the facts (or their spelling). Take the waterskiing chipmunk for example. (I didn't vote for him.) On the upside, computer technology has revolutionized the way artists, writers and musicians work. For some, at least, the computer has become a true brain amplifier, extending the available palette of creative possibilities in practically all artistic media. And maybe all of the extra noise and chatter has honed the collective B.S. detector, raising the bar for what type of assertions will now be accepted as fact. (We don't need your stinking "Weapons of Mass Destruction"!). Verbo10 Productions aims to be a force for good, promoting only top kwality digital produkt. Better to have an electronic ocean of babbling idiots than a silent, censored populace. Please enjoy the sampling of fine new media products we have assembled below!
Attention indie and student film directors: Get a prefabulous music score!
I read an interview with Moby recently wherein he discussed the difficulties that independent filmmakers have in obtaining licenses for post-production music. (Apparantly he had spent some time in his youth as an experimental film enthusiast, participating in projects with a friend who was in film school.) He bemoans the fact that what should be the easiest step in the film production process becomes, in some regards, the hardest - because of all the legal hoops the budding film director will have to jump through. Having composed film soundtrack music for films himself, Moby also expresses some dismay in the relatively narrow creative scope that film studios apply in determining which music to use. He says there could almost be a small generic stock library for each dramatic theme, say: 5 action scores, 5 romance scores, etc. There is a new web site which could save indie directors or films students some of the hassles in getting music for their films. The available soundtracks at this site are much more unique and creative than what you might find in a generic stock music library: The site is called Free Soundtrack Music and many of the mp3 recordings available for download are not only royalty-free but are also completely free of any licensing charges. The wide variety of potential uses for these original music compositions include: films, video games, promotional or instructional videos and presentations. It is definitely worth checking out this royalty-free film production music site.
